Microsoft is back in the market with Windows 8. So here are my Windows 8 reviews.
It is an amazing new operating system. I installed it yesterday and still can’t get over it. The new tiles on start menu is amazing. The live tiles keep you alive unlike the older static icons. The metro user interface makes it more appealing.
Let’s take a deeper look at windows 8 features.
The installation is very easy. You must choose the right Windows 8 version before you start. Use the upgrade assistant to solve this problem automatically. I had issues installing because my DVD ROM was not working fine. I used Magic Disc to create virtual ROM and installed the Windows 8 using the same. Surprisingly, even when you try to install a fresh copy, the virtual ROM works absolutely fine (I wonder how the virtual ROM itself was able to run when the base OS was being updated – need to investigate).
Microsoft has come up with new UI that was first present in Windows Phone 7.x and the first OS Windows 8.
Social Media Integrated Experience
With all your social media accounts like Facebook, Gmail, Twitter, Skype, Windows Live, LinkedIn, etc. you can keep connected with your colleagues, friends and family. You can customize to choose what should be allowed and what should not be.
The chatting can be started with the person if that person is online on anyone of the integrated accounts and you don’t feel the gap. The pervasiveness is in action.
In addition to so many useful features, it also allows you to control your privacy. You can select what should be shared and what should not be. To avoid being online continuously and getting bugged, you can switch off your status with a simple gear shift button. It’s awesome!
